Our Story
Pholeo was founded by three event industry veterans determined to revolutionize how events are planned and executed. Gregory Perrine and Rocio Aldana, lifelong friends originally from Rockford, Illinois, transitioned to Chicago for college and stayed for careers in events and hospitality. Lee Charles worked with Rocio, prior to transitioning to Gregory’s consultancy eGuide Tech Allies.
The idea for Pholeo sparked in 2023 when Gregory managed a 2,500-person conference using multiple disconnected tools. Frustrated by the inefficiencies, he envisioned a platform to unify event planning. Together with Lee Charles, they turned this vision into a very early prototype in a matter of months before showcasing their progress to Rocio. Not much time passed, before Rocio began to plant seeds to come aboard the Pholeo team to help bring the platform to life.
Launched in June 2024, the team put Pholeo through rigorous stress testing executing three back-to-back 16,000+ person events in August and September before setting their sights to sharing this tool with the world.
